SWAN 2015 – Glasgow, Scotland

Despite the recent elections in the United Kingdom, which saw a groundswell of conservative support which is poised to usher in more cuts, nowhere in my travels has the movement for an anti-austerity social work practice been more pronounced than during the annual meetings of the Social Work Action Network (SWAN). As blogged about last year when the conference was held in Durham, England, SWAN held its annual conference this year in Glasgow, Scotland. Boston Liberation Health members again made the journey to meet with colleagues from around the world to tackle the question: what is the future of radical social work and how do we continue to fight the politics of austerity in the UK and abroad?
